Two roads diverged in a wood, and I–
I took the one less travelled by,
and that has made all the difference
-Robert Frost
What roads have diverged in your life?
Let’s be honest..
it happens all the time, right?
Do this, do that.
Go here, go there.
Run faster, walk slower.
Fit in, stand out.
Take one, take ‘em all.
How about these ones…
Be of the world,
or stand with Christ.
Be just a fan, like the rest,
or walk alongside Jesus.
Ah, maybe you’re relating now.
I believe as Christians we come across roads like these every day.
We’re trapped on both sides.
Taking on enemy fire from every angel.
Atheists.
Pagans.
Muslims.
Hindus.
Scientologists.
Humanist.
Marxist.
Evolutionists.
The doubts.
The sin.
The regrets.
The remorse.
…etc. etc. etc.
They throw rocks at us;
tag teaming to break down our walls.
And in the process they ATTEMPT to break our desires…
Desires that shape our faith.
They try to manipulate them,
shape-shift them into their own models.
Jesus just snickers and simply says, “Nice try”.
When we choose to walk with Jesus in our hearts,
and the world at our feet (and not the other way around),
we are choosing the path less traveled.
We are choosing life – eternal life, for that matter.
We are choosing salvation, redemption, freedom, courage, mercy, grace, LOVE.
We are choosing to fight the battle, and not simply give in to the ATTEMPTS of hopeless attacks.
Keep going!
Don’t be afraid to take the road your heart is tugging you towards.
Although narrow, and unknown, it has already been walked.
It has been laid there and marked for YOU.
Take it.
Are you feeling bombarded by the world? Empty inside, feeling as if you got off track somehow? Here’s your chance! Start breaking from the crowd, and walk down that less-traveled, narrow road. I promise there’s a light down that road; a light of freedom and a new found life.
